The holiday break is almost near! Which also means thesis deadlines, finals exams, and requirements are beginning to pile up. But after weeks of reviews and days of pulling an all-nighter, all those will pay off and you and your barkada can finally take a breather. We’ve rounded up 8 great drinking spots near DLSU for you to have a chill (or wild) night out with your friends over pints of beer to celebrate the end of semester and the start of the term break.

Barn MNL

The Barn is where new comers or froshies usually flock to after school hours. The place is usually packed even at early hours so better come in early to save a spot for you and your friends. Aside from being a bar, the Barn is also a restaurant known for their specialty Porterhouse steak so you could dine with your friends before partying.

Central BBQ Boy Grill

Down for chillnumans? Central is the best place to be. Their different flavored cocktails and tasting menus will give you and the squad an evening of good drinks, food and conversations.

Local Caven Resto Bar

Local Bar is known for its indoor vibe, cold ambiance, hip hop and r&b music as well as its closed environment. With the tight space, you and your friends are bound to meet anyone on the dance floor. Also, their special 85 pesos’ wine is one of the many drinks that the bar is best known for.

Plato

If your up for a beer pong challenge then Plato is the go to place. Located at Sherwood Place along Taft avenue, Plato is where many DLSU and non-DLSU students go to for a night of fun and games. Aside from their huge game place for beer pong, they offer affordable pica pica for you and your friends to share, along with beer and some R&B music to jam with.   

TaftSpot Bar & Grill

If you feel like drinking a beer and chill out on a rooftop, then TaftSpot is the place to be. TaftSpot Bar & Grill is the newest bar in Taft, where SaBalcony Taft was previously located. Despite its tight space, TaftSpot has garnered the liking of many students due to its open air and rooftop vibe along with the grooving beats. What’s a better way to remove the stress than to chill on top of a rooftop?

Double Down

Double down is a chill place (most of the time) but when the DJ starts to play, everybody starts to get wild. You can actually lend your phone to them and be the DJ yourself. From experience, the best pulutan to partner up with your drink is their spam with mayonnaise. It feels like it makes you want to drink more.

The Chillout Project Kitchen & Bar

By the name itself, Chillout is the place to chill. With its garden outdoor theme, the ambiance of the place is very laid back and casual. The wall design makes the place seem like it’s covered in grass with dominantly white paintings and picture frames hanging on it. The white wooden furniture also added to its relaxing feel. While it is a kitchen and bar, it certainly feels more like a homey picnic place than anything else. And personally, that’s a good thing.

VBar Taft

Drinking is life but vaping is lifer? You should better go to VBar. With their air-conditioned bar full of vape smoke, you won’t need to worry about smelling like cigar. And when you’re drunk af and you do not have enough juice left for your vape, you can just buy some in their stall located at the corner of the bar. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, from fruity to pastries to menthol. And for sure you’ll get along with the persons handling the bar. They are really friendly and easy to talk to. You can even stay in just to vape out. Also, even though their place is not that spacious, they still offer beer pong.
